What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are sent to your computer or mobile phone from a website's computer (usually the browser) where they are stored to be retransmitted to said sites upon the user’s subsequent visits.
Cookies, of which there are usually large numbers present on users’ browsers sometimes present different features and last over time and are saved on the basis of the user’s preferences in the individual browser of the device used (computer, tablet, smart phone).
Similar technologies, for example web beacon, transparent GIF and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, are used to collect information on the user’s habits and use of services.
We will herein make reference to cookies and all similar technologies using the term “cookie”.

What are cookies used for?

Cookies are used for different scopes; on line identification, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific configurations regarding users who access the server etc.

What types of cookies are used?

a) Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used only for “transmitting a communication on an electronic communications network or if necessary for the providing  information supply services requested by the subscriber or the user " (see article  122, sub-article 1, of Italian Legislative Decree No. 196 of 30 June 2003 as subsequently modified, “Personal data protection Policy”).
They are used for other reasons and are normally directly installed by the owner or manager of the website. They can be subdivided into navigation cookies or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing purchase or authentication to reserved areas); analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website manager to collect information on the number of users and on how these visit the said website; function cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to the criteria selected (for example the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the services rendered by it.

b) Advertising Cookies
These are cookies aimed at creating user profiles in order to send advertising messages according to the navigation preferences of the said user.

What cookies does Edilsider Use?

Edilsider uses technical cookies and not advertising cookies.

Third party cookies

While navigating a site, the user may receive cookies used by other sites or web services (“third party”) which could contain certain elements (such as for example images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site which the user is visiting.
An example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These form part of the page visited directly by the said user and supplement the host site. The most frequent use of social plugins is to share social network content.
Plugins involve transmission of cookies from and to  sites managed by third parties. Management of information collected by “third parties” is regulated in terms of the relative information to which reference is to be made.
To ensure maximum transparency and facilitate use the following are the web addresses of the various policies (where you can give your consent to installation of such cookies ) and management thereof:

It is to be noted that if one chooses to continue navigation within the present website, then consent to the use of cookies is presumed.

Google Analytics

We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to analyze web traffic information supplied by Google, Inc (“Google”). These too are third party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the functions of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect and anonymously analyze the use of the site (including the user’s IP address). This information are collected by Google Analytics, which processes them to draw up reports to website managers regarding website activities.
This site does not use (nor allow third party to use) Google analysis instruments to monitor or collect personal identification information. Google does not associate the IP address  to any other information in the possession of Google nor does it connect the IP address to the identity of the user.  Google could communicate this information to third parties if this is imposed by law or if third parties handle this information on behalf of Google.
For further information please refer to this link: https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/
The user may disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component supplied by Google. To disable Google Analytics please go to: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

How long to cookies last?

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the user logs out. Other cookies “survive” after closing the browser and are available during subsequent visits by the user.
These are persistent cookies and their duration is fixed by the server when they are created. In some cases they expire in others they have unlimited duration.

How are cookies managed?

The user may decide whether to accept some cookies or not by  using the browser settings.
Warning: totally or partially disabling technical cookies could prejudice use of the website reserved to registered users. On the other hand, you can use publically available content even if you disable use of cookies.
Disabling “third party” cookies does not prejudice navigation in any way.
Settings can be defined specifically for different sites and web applications. Moreover the best browsers allow definition of different settings for “ownership” cookies and those of “third parties”.
For example Firefox, through is settings->Options ->Privacy, makes it possible to gain access to a control panel where it is possible to accept or refuse different types of cookies and to remove them.

Edilsider uses cookies and allows transmission of 'third party' cookies. Navigation on this site (by access to other areas of the site or selection of an element within the site – for example an image or a link) requires consent to the use of cookies. See the policy for instructions on how to refuse installation of cookies.
